Our Mission

Our research aims to understand how trauma and adversity in childhood and adolescence impact the brain and the development of depression, anxiety, and trauma-related symptoms. We focus on the experiences of marginalized and vulnerable communities. The goal of this research is to improve our understanding and treatment of mental health symptoms for diverse children and teens.

At the MEND Lab, we strive to cultivate an inclusive space that celebrates, empowers, and acknowledges all breadths of diversity that people have to offer. Our mission is a pinnacle aspect that we work towards integrating in and out of the world of research to ensure people feel heard, welcomed, and valued regardless of differences.
